In the old section of Birjand near the Jame Mosque is another place called Chahar Derakht Mosque. This mosque has a special place among the believers. Although this building has no decorations, stuccowork or tile work, its architecture is of brick, with domed roofs and detailed brick patterns that date to the Safavid Dynasty.
