The Farhang House is a residence of one of the older families of Birjand. It is a building often mentioned in Birjand as part of the old section of the city. The court is square with brick pavement, and molded and cut brickwork decorations.

Outside of Birjand there are residential areas like Khur, Darmiyan, Khosf, Forg, Nehbandan, Sarbisheh, etc. that are harmoniously designed and fit the styles prevalent in the area. For example, the village of Khur is unique and in harmony with its environment. It has survived the ages in this difficult environment and yet the form of the buildings and fitting each other is very attractive.
